The video below shows the Magicard 600 printhead replacement but the process is similar for all Magicard direct-to-card printers, both 1st and 2nd generation.

Note:  Your new replacement printhead may be a new updated type.

If your old head did not have this connector below and the new one has it then dont’t worry, you can ignore this connector:

The printhead simply had an update to allow use across model ranges with the addition of this connector.

A later update was to the heatsink within the Thermal Print Head assembly to remove the coloured anodising:
